Night 3 - AKD Softwoods Kokoda Trek

The crew are all trekking well and getting the job done, managing the challenging terrain of the Kokoda track with the support of our Australian and PNG team.

Yesterday, the crew trekked uphill to reach the incredible and moving memorial at the Isurava battle site. Hearing about the large scale and extremely pivotal battle that took place over 4 days in August 1942. They finished their day at Alola which was the location of Brigade HQ during the Isurava battle. They shared dinner and enjoyed some singing with Jude on the guitar!

Today began with a sharp descent and then climb up to the Eora Creek battle site where they observe the position of a Japanese mountain gun deployed against the advancing Australians in October 1942.

Templeton’s 2 is where they will rest tonight and share a well deserved meal after a long and challenging day.
